Aai Social Welfare Association – Wavanje is the CHARITY organization. Myself Shaikh Abdulhai, as the Chairman of the Sanstha, pleased to furnish information in brief about How Aai social welfare association – Wavanje evolved? And why have we named it as “Aai Social Welfare Association – Wavanje?
I believe, we all owe to our society. Therefore, in our capacity we must try to pay back to our society. During Covid-19 first lock-down, (March/ April 2020) there was food shortage every-where in general and rural as well as slums areas in particular. It was unbearable to see public pain. We felt it as our responsibility to do something. We decided to distribute Food Grains and Groceries to families near-by area of my residence in Panvel as well as my company area in Wavanje. While doing this, we decided to have one registered CHARITY ORGANIZATION of our own and continue such philanthropic work for the poor and weaker sections of society until I am alive and hear after.
The next question in front of me was to have RIGHT name to represent public/lok-seva service in true sense. I wanted the name itself must clear our motive of selflessness. In this connection the word “AAI/MAA” struct to me first. “Aai” is the only word / personality that is on top when it comes to selfless service, compassion, mercy and love. Secondly, the very fact is myself (like others), I love my mother very much. Therefore, we decided to name our CHARITY organization as “Aai Social Welfare Association – Wavanje”. Accordingly, we prepared MOM/AOA and submitted to the office of the Charity Commissioner, Alibaug in February 2021. Due to lock-down there was little delay, but finally, we received our registration certificates on June 02, 2021 # 127/2021 & F – 14519.
